My poor lurcher isn't in a good way. She is 17 - so had a very good innings and until the last few days has been spritely and full of life. My OH took her for a long walk - 2-3 hours on Thursday and for the first time ever, she struggled. She had a quiet day Friday and was stiff, so on Saturday we took her to the vets. He prescribed Rimadyl for osteoarthritis. She had 1/2 a 50mg tablet with tea and perked up. Today, however, she's completely lifeless - hasn't wanted to move from her bed at all. She went outside for a wee, hasn't shown any interest in food, had a little drink of water and then was promptly sick. She's had a bout of yellow diarrhoea too. Obviously, having googled rimadyl, I'm worrying about side effects. Any advice?

Maybe she has picked up a virus, but it could be side effects from Rimadyl? No advice regarding the meds, but I would call the vet for their opinion.

I hope she picks up soon, it's always such a concern when they are poorly, especially when they are golden oldies! xx

A rollocking to your OH for tiring her out so much, poor old girl and a hug which I hope makes her feel better. Hope it is just tiredness and old age which has caught up with her and she can recharge her batteries soon.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice. She's much brighter today - had a lovely waggy tail when we got home and got up to 'claim' the scraps when we'd finished tea!!
