I'm secretary of the Poplar Park Horse Trials committee. We have a post-event meeting coming up so if anyone has any comments, good or bad, they would like to bring up please let me know!

We had a really enjoyable event with 3 horses, ground, stewards and weather were all brilliant. Particular mention for the lady steward at the sj who was so polite even when things got really busy.
Our only problem was for our intro horse at his very first event who was totally terrified at having to walk over a piece of blue pipe through a very narrow gap in the fence to access the dressage arena. Perhaps you could get this covered with sand or something in future.

We had a great day. Everyone was really helpful and friendly.....sj steward and the dressage stewards. Thought it all run really smoothly......we were there on the sat when things got a bit delayed due to the incident in the sj but everything still seemed under control. I thought the commentator was brilliant! The only thing I would say is the scores (dressage in particular) weren't quite as quick as other events to go up.

We had a number of horses there on Saturday and Sunday and had a fab time as ususal much better now some of the dressage arenas now face the other way and are not so much on a slope , excellent SJ steward very accomodating and the incident very efficiently dealt with Excellent going on the xc our only grumble was that in PN the Novice fence 10 was in the natural path to the jump
Excellent stewarding overall including the lorry park and good to see a variety of trade stands doing well.
I think we would all like to see dressage scores go up a little quicker but we do understand they have to be checked.

We all commented how friendly everyone was

Only criticism was the long walk from Novice fence 11 to 12, as an older Mum my legs are killing me today

Great to hear all these good comments! Keep them coming! lol I'll definitely pass these comments on and raise the points you have made where we can try and improve on things next year. The dressage scores did seem to be slower this year compared to previous years. Not sure why at this point to be honest.

I thought it was a shame to see some of the best combinations running at the end of the day and when the light was fading particularly as when walking the course during the middle of the day there where so many spectators watching.
