Popped zip on long boots!!

I accidently touched the zip on my long Mark Todd field boots with the spur on my other leg and popped the zip. Took it into the shoe repairs and they siad it would be £35 and 3 weeks to get it replaced.

Is this about right?

I have a show in less than 2 weeks and nothing to ride in.

Anyone have any other ideas on where to take it?

I got mine repaired by my local saddler, i think she took about £15 and that was including the cost of the new zip.

I had a new zip put on mine for £10 at the shoe menders locally.

I've just had a new zip on my harry hall boots, done by the local cobbler. It cost £12 and took about 4 days - and only then because he didn't have the correct zip in stock. I'd try another cobbler if you have one close by.
