I'm after a portable horse shower to keep at the yard and have looked at a couple on-line.

I have access to cold mains water only and a generator, and the ones I have looked at need filling with warm water if you want a warm shower.

I can't fit a normal shower as the lowest wattage one I can find is 7.5kw which is too much for a generator.

Is there a portable shower out there that will warm the water as it goes through?

Thank you

Unfortunately it takes power to heat water and the more and faster you heat it the more power you need. So its pretty much a no . Frankly I think all this washing horses off with warm water is over rated. I would sooner zap the mud off a hunter with a good cold hose, quickly, and have him back in the warm ,scraped off and drying, rather than faff about with buckets of not particularly warm water ,doing a half job ,with the animal quietly freezing because the water cools very quickly over the large surface area of a horse.By the way,it takes about a third of the power needed for a shower, to run a solarium.

You can buy solar showers from camping shops that are basically a bag with a shower attachment which you leave out in the sun to heat up. Would only work on a sunny day but simple, very cheap and effective.

The whole warm water thing is prob a massive faff, you would have to be very careful your water temperature wasn't too high too. Horses are used to standing in rain which is cold. Heat lamps to dry off!

I knew it was going to be virtually impossible but I thought I'd try anyway.

I always wash off in cold water after hunting, and if our water is frozen up I've resorted to doing it in the river at times - not ideal but does the job. I chuck the tack in too!

However my TB suffers from mudfever in the winter and currently has rainscald. I need to wash her back off as part of the scab removing process and it makes it much easier for her if the water is warm. Thought a shower would be easier than boiling up on a gas stove.

Yes Sanolly I do, just thought I'd make life easier by trying to find a shower. Also when washing legs its much easier to shower them downwards than trying to sponge or tip a bucket down them :(
