Hi,

For Christmas I would like to get a smart leather headcollar and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? I've seen a nice one for around £100 so that sort of money...

I don't really like any of the headcollars that come with a name plate already on so was wondering if you buy a name plate is it possible to attach it yourself? Or would you need to take it to a cobbler or someone?! How do they attach?

I emailed a company called Brass Tacks but haven't heard back from them yet so thought I'd ask on here!

:D

I looooove the Passier Padded leather headcollar...

That is lovely and I like how you can remove the throat lash if needed.

I have used Brass Tacks, very good, nice quality head collars...

2nd Brass Tack or Sabre

That Sabre one is lovely

This is the one that I like...

It's a shame that the brass tacks website doesn't have a actual picture of what the headcollar looks like! I emailed them so hopefully they will get back to me...

Held name plate where I wanted it, marked centre of holes with something pointy, punched hole with hole punch, screwed plate on with fixings supplied - easy peasy. Bought it about 6 months ago and looks fab. Have a pic on my Facebook. Pm me your name and I'll add you if you like and tag you in it

Aww thanks ill do it now :)

I got a lovely padded leather headcollar with brass name plate from HOYS, the company was called Richardson designs. Cost me just under 50 quid.

I got this one as well.

I haven't been for a couple of years, but there were always loads of stands at Olympia who did leather headcollars and nameplates for them either while you wait or mail order. Quality was across the board. Just a thought if you were going to something like that.

These days, I just use a rope halter for everything, so much easier as one size fits all... The posh headcollars only come out for shows now.
