17 Days ago was possibly the worst day of my life!!! I had to make the horrendous decision to put my beloved mare to sleep following a shocking and hideous broken leg whilst out in the field.

My husband got straight on the case to let insurance company know and get the correct permission for PTS etc, we then had the claim forms 2/3 days later 17 days on i now have the cheque for her full insurance figure in my hand and a lovely "sorry for your loss" handwritten card from the claims team as well. Just wanted to say a very well done to KBIS as forum is often filled with negative comments about insurers.

This is especially good service as i only paid £63 for a years (yes a years!) insurance (death, theft/straying and public liability - horse was not suitable for vet fees insurance, due to E & L writing her off years ago!)

Nice to hear a positive story. I worked in equine insurance for years and it can be a hard job but i think stafff who empathise with the customers are worth their weight in gold. I too am sorry for your loss though and I imagine, like all of us you'd rather not have to have that cheque at all but, at the end of the day, that's what insurance is for.
