I went to lunge her on Monday 5th March, to find she was lame, as i was on my own i took a video to show my mum

As the fields were flooded she had to stay in away so kept her on box rest, wednesday (7th march) i checked her and still the same i knew my farrier was in on thursday (8th march), Farrier checked her on thursday (8th) and found nothing
so called the vet who came out that afternoon, vet nerve blocked her foot and he said she was slightly better (although i didn't think she was) then he nerve blocked her leg below the knee and again no better.
So he said i could either take her in to be investigated or keep her on box rest and give her 6days of bute x2 a day
he told me that it would be best to go for the second option first
So i took her of the bute on the wednesday(14th) and trotted her up on Friday (16th march)

as you can see still no better, so have got the vet coming back out on Tuesday (20th),
Poor Mouse she is so bored but she is being a little star, as you can see she is so laid back!! in that first video from friday she hadn't been out of the box for nearly 2 weeks, i thought she would go mad.
so please send Mousey some get better vibes

Oh dear

Could it be a shoulder strain? Was she out previously when the fields were slippery? Positive vibes it's just something easily fixable.

Thats what im hopeing as fields are very wet and slippy and bless her she isn't the brightest when it comes to the other horses, she is a very nice mare and loves other horses so if one shoos her away she doesn't move till the last second! as she thinks there coming to say hello(hope this make sence)
so she may have slipped running off, im thinking it's shoulder

Hi,
Aaahh! Poor Mouse
frown.gif

Okay here's some good vibes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just a little test though. When she's standing normally and relaxed, take a hold of the muscle at the base and under her neck. If she's happy it will just wobble loosely from side to side. But if her shoulder muscles are locked up or are sore - 1 it well feel firm and 2 she'll try and move away from you.

If the bute or box rest dosen't work and there's no explaination for her lameness. My next move would be to find a good backperson. She may have just locked up her shoulders.

Hope she's feeling better soon.

GET WELL SOON MOUSE!!!

This sounds like the same boat im in with my girlie!!!!

She has just done her 2 weeks box rest and i have got to phone the vet back up to see whats the plan from here. shes abit better then she was but still lame.

I am however gertting someone out to have a look at back. The vet said when she looked at her that should could benifit from this as she is very tense. Howwever i don't think the vet was thinking it could be a back problem however i want it checked least then it can get ruled out if thats not the problem right!!!

So possitive vibes for yours!!!
