my 20 year old has sudden onset of none weight bearing right fore and very sore in left fore , was absolutely fine overnight hacked out fine the night before , emergency xrays take , no changes in foot what so ever and pedal bone in both feet absolutely fine no cocnenrs , vets swaying with lamintsis but not hundred percent certain as not typical of lami eventer in full work and not overwight and she thinks he looks about ten as oppse to 19 , farrier also been to assess too and agrees half of him looks like lamantic but other half doesnt , has dramtaic growth in feet and some ridges on heels which wasnt there 5 weeks ago when he was done , cushings bloods done to see if that can shed some light on the matter , but now all his face has started to swell , so worrid about my boy , had him since he was 5 years old , vets dodnt even think its cushings ethier but do need to rule it out , so worried about my baby xxx

A friend's horse had similar symptoms. He had the equine version of Addison's disease. It's a pretty rare condition so not all vets think to check for it. He responded to a very large dose of steroids initially but then developed other unrelated issues and was PTS a few months later. I only mentioned that to say I couldn't tell you what the outcome would have been had he not had other issues but he did improve on the steroids initially.

This is the horse you thought had arthritis that you asked about the other day?

Sometimes one issue can lead to others and you have to gradually unpick them until you reach the one that set things off.
At least if it is lami related he’s not got rotation. Hope you find some answers soon ??
