Possible Back problem!

Horse recently started not travelling very well, and not moving as well as he could. Was like there was a tight area in his back, and hind legs could not step through as well as before. He's had a week off and in that time have had a vet and physio visit for general checks and blood test. Both have come back with no real conclusions. He now seems to be moving a bit better, and has never been lame.

Would you get another physio opinion, or do horses sometimes go through peaks and troughs of how they move??? Confused!!

Could he be cold backed with the weather? Have you tried doing loads of walk and canter work to warm up and seeing if he loosens up?

If its a muscle pull or tweak it should self right given a bit of time and a light work schedule. Anything more serious will not come right with rest and recuperation (you may start to see compensations instead which will give false hope) so if not right after a couple of weeks I suggest you get a a MacTimoney practitioner to check him over.
