horse is usually VERY good to groom his face and ears; I often don't even have to hold his nose while I brush his head - he just stands so still and loves being groomed. However the last couple of weeks when I go to brush his ears/touch his ears he swerves his head away? I had a look in his ears and couldn't see any insects/mites or anything..however they did look slightly dirtier than normal inside...
He is fine when tacking up/being ridden - only when grooming his ears.....
Anyone else had any experiences with ear mites? They were my first thought as when my kitten once had ear mites she didn't like her ears being touched either, and she also had slightly dirtier ear canals (from mite dirt)
I was going to ring the vet anyway tomorrow, but if anyone had any info/advice that'd be great!
