Possible Firework Inury?

When feeding my horses this morning a found a graze on the inside of my TB's hind leg. A good 7 inches long, he's skinned it but there is a bit more of a graze in the middle. I walked all round the edge of the 5 acre field, and the fencing s absolutely fine, however I found a thin stake from a firework in the middle of the field!

I heard fireworks last night but they seemed to be coming from afar and my horses are only down the road. Does anyone thinks this injury could have come from the firework, as I am baffled as to how else he could have done it. Funny place to have the wound though on the inside of the leg...

Ideas would be appreciated, will try and find out who locally set off the rocket

Looks like when my mare caught herself when getting up, also a TB. Has he got back shoes on?

No he hasn't... did wonder if this was possible, but expected if he had shoes that it was more likely to cause this damage.
