I bought my mare with what looks like a haematoma on her back leg just below her quarters.
I had the vet out to her who said it could be a haematoma or a lump filled with fluid rather than blood, either way it's not causing pain to leave it, maybe hose it and it will go away....
I pressure sponged it will cold water two nights ago and it went down from a lump to a small retanglar shape (like a large vein)
Last night we ended up going on a ride with some canterig and bucking lol and when we got back it was a lump shape...
When I pressure sponged it again it got a little bigger, but this may have happened before I'm not 100%
I was wondering if anyone has ever known about haematomas that are work related rather than girth pinching etc and whether they keep happening through work....and if anything can be done as I guess draining won't wrok as it will fill back up when she works
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks guys
