Hello!!!

I'm potentially making the move from London up to Bedford, V excited, have second stage interview next week, managers seemed keen, brand new company so hopefully I can really help them grow and further my career there.
But Help! I know nothing about the area and am a bit nervous about dragging my OH up there!

Firstly (Importantly!) I'll be looking for a part-loan if all works out. I'm gonna be working in the Wyboston area, went up to visit this week and seemed lovely and green (compared to my eyes used to smog and big skyscrapers!)
Is it a horsey area? How much would you be looking at roughly for a part loan 2/3 days a week max? I'm not the best rider in the world, but I like lessons and trying to improve and hacking out! Would be keen on improving my jumping as its a bit limited where I am! Had my current share for a year and part loaned two different ponies for a year-ish before that. So am used to the commitment required and the need to be reliable.

Secondly. Could someone recommend decent areas to live in? I'll be renting initially, so perhaps a short-term contract while I see out probation. (I do like to think positive!)
I'd like to be as countryside as possible, the OH is definitely a cityboy and would like nightlife and a cinema and perhaps a cricket team to play for and keep out of trouble with :) I have a car so I can tootle about but he doesn't and would hate to be reliant on me completely, so I guess something in the middle would be good? Perhaps a 30/40 minute commute from base to work?
As both of us have family in London somewhere that would also allow him to commute easily down in an hour or so would please him greatly.

I am starting to get excited about this! Had a Google last night but not being sure of the area and where I might be based made it a bit tricky to work out!

Yes this is a horsey area with active riding clubs and competition centres.

If you are going to be working in Wyboston, it's worth considering St.Neots. its next to the A1 and does have a cinema plus decent restaurants. Not sure about cricket, but definitely offers rowing, golf, rugby and football. Nice area are eynesbury and eaton socon. Little Paxton or Hail Weston might also be worth considering. Both offer immediate countryside, but are walkable to the centre of town.

There is a traffic black spot, black cat roundabout, just south of Wyboston. I would consider this if you are thinking of living in that direction.

Look at Facebook for share info. Plenty available.

Good luck at your interview

(My post vanished?)
Anyway!

Thank you! That is so helpful to know, might head over to St Neots after the interview and chat up some estate agents!
And thanks for the info about the roundabout, will keep it in mind!
