This morning I looked at this 5 year old who I think I will have
smile.gif
I have yet to finalise everything,as the owner wants us to think about it!
He is a 16.2 hands ex-hurdler, he ran 8 times, he did pick up a few placings but was not fast enough...his racing name is Xcentra if you go to this website you can some of his racing videos, watch the one on 10 May 2005- he is the horse running in front most of the way with his ears pricked!
Xcentra

He has a fantastic temperment, and looks like a Irish Sport Horse type rather than a TB, hacked him out this morning and he was awesome, his canter is to die for. Owner has jumped 5 bar gates on him and said he was super. I think he has a great attitude too..so fingers crossed that Owen will have a new buddy soon!

I think that once he has matured and muscled up he will look really good...

He is nice and solid for a TB isn't he? I love his expression in the second picture - he has a real teddy bear look there for his type!

P_G- that video really sums up his personality, he is a very happy chappy type of person!!

Scarlett- I am pretty sure he has never been advertised, he belongs to my Mother's friend who says he never advertises his horses!

He's very, very handsome. A lovely looking boy. What are his front legs like in the flesh???? Don't look great in the photo's , but could just be the way he's standing.

Thank you all you guys I am so glad that you all like him!
smile.gif

Owner has just said that I can have him next weekend !(he will be on trial first for a month) and if I do like him after a month I will keep him on loan... and the owner wants to be closely involved with his progress and competition career....eeeek!! But he is a lovely lovely guy, so should be lots of fun all round!

HenryHorn- yes this is SB (Sorry I know that the name changing was very confusing!) and Weezy- his toes were straight I am sure!

Oh hunny, he is edible!!! Lovely rangey type!! Will look awesome when all muscled up and fit!! I really like the way he is bred too, not that that has any bearing, but I have always liked Docksider!

This is gonna sound a bit like SSM saying that he looks like a CB, but he really reminds me of Sportsnight! Which as you know, in my eyes can only be agood thing

PMSL!! Thank you Ibel I am really thrilled that you think that he looks like Sportsnight- that is a massive compliment for him!
smile.gif
Now he had better live up to that
smile.gif

I was actually just about to ask you if you knew anything about Docksider and wether you had met any of his stock? His owner says that Xcentra was foaled in the U.S but do not see how this is possible if he was sold when he was 7 months old at Tattersalls??Or was Docksider standing in the UK at that time?

Look at these pics - there is just something more than the colour which makes me think they are alike!!

Hmmm well on the Racingpost website, it does not have USA/IRE/CAN etc next to his name, so that to me indicates he was born in this country. His mother was bred in CAN, but EP Taylor, who bred Northern Dancer! Docksider was a tough little horse on the track bloody good miler!!

Some info on him from the Thoroughbred Times
"Irish stallion Docksider nets first winner

Freshman stallion Docksider, highweighted miler in England and Germany in 1999, gained his first winner on April 4 when his son Who's Winning captured a five-furlong maiden race by 1 1/4 lengths in 1:01.60 at Folkestone in England.

Docksider stands at Airlie Stud in County Kildare, Ireland, for $7,975. He entered stud in 2000 after winning six of 18 races, including the 1999 Hong Kong Mile (HK-G2), and $995,736. He was a multiple group stakes winner in Germany and finished third in the '99 Breeders' Cup Mile (G1), a neck behind winner Silic (Fr).

Airlie bred the eight-year-old son of Diesis (GB), who is out of the unraced *Forli mare Pump and is a half brother to stakes winners Filao Beach and Classic Sport, in Kentucky. Docksider has 68 two-year-olds this season and a crop of 47 yearlings for next year.

Colin Kennedy bred Who's Winning in Ireland. Campaigned by Casino Racing Partnership, the chestnut colt is the third foal to race and third winner out of the winning Robellino mare Quintellina."

This makes this chap of yours one of his first crop.
