I currently have on loan my friend's cob.
I know nothing about showing and was wondering if it would be worth us having a go at showing - just local level. (We will be doing some low level dressage too)
And also, what would we be expected to do? And how should we be turned out?
Oh and she is 14.3 ish.
Pic from last summer. Her feathers would be fully off too.IMG_20190817_142556.jpg

A lovely type and should do very well at the level you want to do.

In the majority of showing classes you will be asked to ride around initially as a group, walk/trot/canter on both reins and sometimes a gallop. Then pulled into a line and asked to do an individual show, which will again demonstrate all paces and a quick confirmation check. The judge then will send everyone on the class back out to walk round the ring, then will pull in for final placings.

Turnout wise, hogged and trimmed for the horse and plain tack (ie no 'blingy browbands!) and a tweed jacket and tie/cream jods and long boots for you.

Enjoy!
