So youngest staffie (3 1/2) was packed off to the vets for xrays due to his lameness (forelimbs). Duly came out at the end of the day and flatly refused to have anything to with me to the extent that he even climbed in my friends car on the way home from the yard rather than mine (and slept in the spare room that night)
The x rays have gone off to an orthapedic vet for closer viewing. The shoulder and wrists are fine but my vet thinks there could be thickening on the elbows. I know that if that is the verdict that we could be looking at an op (can't spell it - otheo something)
I am not keen at all about putting him through this, let alone the fact that staffies do not do "slow down" at all. Does anyone have experience of this and are there alternatives I can look at before operating? i.e physio? steroids? I will discuss this with my vet when the results come back but would be very interested to hear if anyone has any experiences to share/guidance?
He looks the absolute picture of health, just losing some muscle tone and is very well in himself -also now thankfully forgiven me and we are back on speaking tones.
