Possible Thief At My Yard!!!!

At my old yard I used to stack my straw then drape one of those camo nets over it with my name pinned to it. I suddenly went from using five bales a week to using two bales a week

you could approach her re the above if you don't feel comfortable with confrontation straight away, or you could say you have approached all the over liverys as you are concerned someone has been taking your straw does she know anything.

do you know anyone from her previous yard who knows anything about her.

We have infra red cctv at our yard, no thieves just the YO having a good laugh at us picking knickers out of bums etc.

put a tally on a bit of paper on top of the bales so its in plane sight, also food dye on the twine, we did that when someone was nicking our hay & feeds, they had bright blue hands for days after

Like the sound of the food dye on the strings!

Only other thing I could think of is to spray the stuff in your stable with Jeyes and then sniff out your straw to the culprit!

(Obviously bearing in mind that your horse might be allergic to Jeyes or thief might use it already!!)

Yikes! Don't know whether I could go as far as placing a strategically placed mouse trap!!
