Possible Zenyatta showdown with Rachel

Some BIG money is on the table for Zenyatta to Take on Rachel Alexander in the Apple Blossom Invitational at Oaklawn Park on April 3rd.

Both sets of connections are said to be keen and if both mares contest the prize money will be $5 million! Certainly one worth watching.

There has been BIG money offered from various sources over the past 12 months for a match race between the 2. So far no takers. As yet Moss's hiding their inclinations well on the latest anticipated showdown. RA is proven at Oaklawn, and Zenyatta is aiimed at a relatively easy return to the track at Santa Anita so there seems no hurry on the connections of Zenyatta to agree to the temptations.

I still hope it does not happen. Let two fabulous mares bask in their individual glory. As a match one has to loose, and how many times have we seen the beaten horse with a broken spirit at the end, or even dead.

There is a small part of me that would like to see a match race, as that's what racing is all about, but in reality I'd agree with the above. They're both fantastic, one day is only one day in the life, and I'd hate to see a great horse have her heart broken just to prove a point.
