Possibly A Silly Question R:E Dog Coats

Ok, My dog is getting old and we think he's begining to feel the cold. And im going to suggest to mum that we buy a dog rug/coat. Now my question is, He is male. So when he goes to urinate would it go all over the coat?

No because the ones ive seen have only got one strap to fasten it under their belly, and thats just behind their front legs

I thought they would do too - but last year Talisker was wearing a coat for the first time before he was PTS, and he never did

Not quite sure how he 'missed' - but the essential point is, he did

I've got a couple of coats for my spaniel puppy, he's still got his puppy fur and its not very waterproof. His coats go over his head and have a T shaped bit that goes under his tummy and the straps velcro to themselves on his back.

The underneath part stops at about the end of his ribs so doesn't get piddled on. I've found one of them now here's the link web page

They don't get their coats wet, the strap is well forward and not in the line of fire!
