I help out regularly at my local riding school (I'm 28) and today the manager Chris offered me a part time job - working four hours a day - two in the morning and two in the afternoon when the horses come in for winter to muck out and bed down in return for having Jazz, my favourite pony there on loan! I'd be able to ride him every day apart from Mondays (horses day off) and Saturday mornings (he'll be needed on the beach rides for customers - the beach rides on Saturdays are always full!)
Jazz is a 7 year old 14.3hh piebald cob gelding and he first arrived at Saltburn in October 2010. He'd come over from Ireland as a recently broken 5 year old and I started riding him the following Thursday on the beach ride. At first he could barely trot in a straight line and would run into canter, but he is much improved now - I was doing Prelim 7 on him last Sunday and we got 56% - not bad for his first dressage!
Really hoping that I will be able to do this as my mum works really wierd shifts at a care home for adults with learning difficulties and we have a Collie X called Sally who needs walking.
I've got a disability called Dyspraxia which affects my co - ordination and makes finding employment difficult, so I think that this oppertunity would look good on my CV. I still live at home, but do my bit around the house.
What do you think?
