Possibly silly question about summer coats

If I turn my horse out without a rug and he gets a bit chilly, am I risking him growing a thicker summer coat?

No. My lot have been rugless for a while as I like to have them naked as soon as the weather allows. They are fine coated breeds and their summer coats are coming through as normal (short, fine hairs).
