I used a small amount of wood pellets in my shaving bed last week. the day after my boy had 2 very huge swollen legs. Front and Back on the nearside. He wasn't lame but his legs looked like elephant legs, and where warm to touch. they went down with walking - I range the vets who said get him walking - give him bute if possible, and they would come out if it got worse.. Luckily It didn't get worse, but the following day the opposite legs where also slightly swollen.
It has since gone away - still some very slight swelling on the worst one.
Initially I thought he must have been cast and banged his legs, but his bed was fine and no signs of a stuggle. It was only the day later when the other legs swelled that I thought of the wood pellets causing it. I don't want to put more in now
has anyone else experienced a reaction to wood pellets? I am 99% sure this is what has caused it. no lameness, and te evening before it happened all legs fine, and he had been ridden.
