does anyone know the rough cost of post and rail, i need about 150yds fenced

Depends if you want two, three or four rails and what type timber you are using.

Ballpark figure, depending on supplier for 3 rails would be about £4 per rail, £4 per post. You'd need 75 rails per 100 metres , ( 25 posts (5 x 3, 6ft long) Erection charges will be different in other parts of the country but we charge £4.50 per metre.

The cost of fencing is scary! Hubbys' motto is "you get what you pay for" but, having recently sunk poles for over 4000m of fencing we have baulked at railing the lot.

I'd love post and rails all through, but it's not going to happen.

In Dorset I have just had 200 metres of post and rail fitted this was 3 rail with tantalised half round rails. The cost was £1780.
