Had my 3 year old gelded today and I've been keeping a close eye on him since:

Its been 8 hours now and he seems fine but on one side of his scrotum there seems to be a blob hanging out (It is not an "evisceration" where the intestine comes out before anyone suggests it). I think it is most likely just a blob of clotted stuff running out of the wound but is there a chance it could be the spermatic cord hanging out and if so is this bad or will it just retract as the wound heals?

Difficult to say without seeing it really. If he was mine I would ring the vet and ask advice I think. One of mine had some omentum prolapse after a day or so (was quite bloody but also clearly fatty tissue), it was just cut off and then healed up fine, yours sounds like it might just be a blood clot but I think I'd want to discuss it with the vet.

My boy was gelded today and has something very similar. I tried to get a photo but my phone died. Did you find out what it was?
