My horse is back in full work after kissing spine surgery doing showjumping and soon to be going hunting. Has anyone any experience of what numnah is best? Seen lots of good sheepskin ones but confused as to whether to use one with a clear area over the spine or a padded spine. Help!

I don't know, but am very interested in the answer. My mare is going back to Newmarket on 1st Sept for a check up after surgery 3 months ago. I'm expecting an exercise schedule and hope to be back riding her in the New Year. How long was the rehab for your horse?

Congratulations for coming as far as you have. I didn't really think there was that much they could do for kissing spine so it is really nice to hear an encouraging story. I hope her recovery continues and I wish you luck for the future.

My horse had her surgery at Rossdales at the end of January. Had a check end of April and then just told to lunge with a saddle on for 3-4 wks followed by a normal fittening regime for a horse that's been out of work. Have also had a McTimoney chiro out every 4-6 wks.
Her main problem pre-op was refusing jumps and so far fingers crossed she's going brilliantly. We are going to do our first British Novice post-op next wk & plan to go xc schooling! Hope everything goes well with your horse.
