Was no help at all.
My vet said he expected to be able to say enlarged heart/kidneys, stomach ulcers perhaps but everything appeared completely normal.
There was a small amount of grass in the stomach so not only were we feeding her she was eating too.
My son . daughter and husband stood and watched but as I had been her main carer I didn't want to see her cut open...
He has sent bits off for histology? as he says their findings may give us more idea, he still feels kidneys as her skin was such a mess, but until the report comes back we just wait.
She is going off to be cremated, not a lot else we can do, I feel so frustrated that whatever the cause, we couldn't discover it or fix it.. What a waste.

So sad that you had to go through that and still have no explanation. I hope you get some good luck very soon.

god that is so hard im sorry sorry to hear that !!!

I know its hard but hopefully they will find out what was wrong and be able to help other foals with the same problem in the future !!

I'm so sorry about everything that has happened. I know how you must feel about not getting any answers from the PM. I know it's not the same thing, but when my grandma died out of the blue last year, her PM showed nothing. All that was put on her death certificate was "death by natural causes". Some sort of sudden adult death syndrome. At least if it had have been a heart attack or something, we would have known why she died, but we dont really.

I really hope the lab results come back with something conclusive, and that your mare is coping ok.

I am so sorry, It is a devastating thing to go through, without knowing why it must be twice as hard.

Golly, I can't blame you for not being able to watch! Poor little lady - RIP Diva. Hope the mare improves - better weather, I'm sure, would help her eh. It'd help me!
