Dog jumping on my dog's head while mine was in a down stay (twice).
Muzzled dog running up to mine while he was trying to have a poo and headbutting him as owners walk past feebly calling it.
Small doodlepoo thing attaching itself to my dog's rear legs as rest of the tribe rush him, barking, owners laugh.
Two men casually walking past while their dogs harangue mine, barking and growling.
Dog running across a field, under a fence and sticking its nose up my dog's backside as owner a quarter of a mile away calls his name.

Bought one of the Yellow Dogs "My Dog Needs Space" yellow tabards for my old girl who was losing her sight and hearing.

Geek on common lets their out-of-control mutts up in the poor old love's face and they basically terrified her so she was a quivering heap. Owner says, brightly, "oh they just want to play together don't they......".

I had to restrain myself not to slap her stupid face; wait till she's old and frail, hard of hearing and sight, and I'll come up bouncing up to her in the face and say "OK luvvie, let's play..."

People like this bring out the very worst in me.

Out running on an old railway track dog off lead but running beside me. Labrador comes out of no where and follows my dog with its nose right up her bum. If we had stopped in sure he would have tried to rape her ( defo notin season). In the end I had to shout the owner to come and get his dog as I was about to go onto the road. 😁😁😁😁

Walking along the road, dog on lead with runner coming towards us. He had three large dogs, one loose, the other two each on a rope attached to a sort of waistband. Loose dog runs for mine (small Parsons), all growly, then one of the dogs on the 'lead' actually picked mine up. If mine hadn't been wearing a coat he would have been injured. Runner had the audacity to 'tsk' at me and was mouthy - good job he ran out of my way quickly cause he would have had a severe learning curve regarding how not to treat a menopausal woman - or her dog!

It's cold, it's wet and there's as much mud now as there's been all winter. Been out tonight dressed like frosty the snowman, complete with wellies and woolly hat!!

On a positive note, I have the woods to myself again so unlikely to be joined by random dogs. I have no idea where the fair weather walkers go when it rains. They must just stay at home.

i have started running with my dog so have been using the cycletracks and paths in the town direction and i must say, hardly a running day goes by when i do not meet some numpty or other on these routes.

My dog is always on lead and it seems like everyone else's isn't . I try to avoid offlead dogs because usually the owner has no power to stop their dog running up to mine. The dog charges over barking with owner running after it yelling at it and then appologising to me profusely when dogs fight. There is a reason my dog is on a lead. Unless you have a calm under control dog (which Ive rarely come across!) keep your dog away because mine is not able to approach you or get away

People just letting off lead dogs charge up to my (fear aggressive) dog, or people with dogs on extending leads on pavements who don't reel them in when we walk past so their dog can approach mine.

And then when their dog gets snapped at they huff and mutter things about my dog being poorly socialised...They have no idea why he is as he is (because he was attacked by a big dog).

Years ago my grooming mentor used to tell a story about walking with a pack of miniature poodles (in show coat) on leads in a park, and a woman with a staffie came up to them so poodle lady turned another direction to avoid. Woman with staffie shouted after her "My dog won't hurt your little dogs" and to which poodle lady replied "That may be the case, but mine will do their best to take yours apart limb by limb". I never believed that story til I got poodles of my own. One neutererd male is reasonably friendly but if there's a fight going on he'll dive in. However the bitch, in all her pink baubles and show coat looks harmless and goofy. But if she feels threatened (ie she's on lead and something come tearing up to her) she will do a damn fine job of teaching some manners, which the neutered male will join in.

So, if I'm walking on lead and don't wish to be disturbed I find it really irritating when all the "friendlies" come bouncing up off lead.

Walking this morning, dogs off lead but close to me on a wide grass channel (about 20m) between two patches of gorse. See people ahead and cross to the other side of the channel to avoid (pretty obvious signal I think), level with them and their little terrier crossbreed is distracted so I think I've made it..... Then hear the chap go 'Oh no XXX, you missed them, better go say hello' FFS!

Dog runs after my spaniels, friendly but annoyingly bouncing in their faces, mine ignore although Casper was not happy and I had to keep distracting him when he looked like he wanted to tear the thing a new one. Stayed with us a good 5 minutes while owners were walking in the other direction calling and whistling uselessly.

Siiiighhhhhh

We have just come back from visiting a great NGS garden. Lovely setting and cakes, friendly crowd and well-behaved dogs. Just the one idiot who gives my lurcher a hearty slap on the bottom as we pass each other! The outraged look on my dog 's face had everybody laughing and the culprit vanishing in the topiary but it would have been far from funny if he had done it to one of my rescue bitches. I always muzzle them in public just in case we meet this kind of person but he would still have had a shock. Poor well-socialised Dylan seems to be irresistible to the loony fringe unfortunately.

am out this morning with my sbt who is on a running belt and wearing his muzzle, jogging along and a man upfront with 2 small dogs off lead.i slow down and shorten my lead to walk past and his dogs come up to mine.
he then tells me to keep my dog away from his because my sort are aggressive WTF !
i tell him that i am a responable dog owner and point out that MY dog is on a lead and his are not.

my dog only gets cross if another dog gets in his face and he behaved lovely all through this.
this was only a little incident but has made me so cross and anyway my dog could be muzzled because for many other reasons.

this is in contrast to yesterday when i met a lady who fussed my dog and explaned she used to have a muzzled one and always makes a point to ask if she can pat then x

Walking in local forest park, I've mine (lab) on a lead as I can see people coming around the corner with a dog.
Slight older women walking her 3 (!) massive malamutes/huskies and they are attached to some sort of harness around her waist. The leads are approx 2m long for each dog - they can cross the wide path easily.
They start to attack my dog and very nearly pull the woman off her feet - she has absolutely no control of them & I run on with dog.

Stupid woman had no control - very nearly reported her for out of control dogs.

not nice for you :(
these belts you mention are for caniX and i think the leads should have `traffic handles` on them for just the circumstance you described.

NO way would i have 3 tied to me !

today i met a woman with 2 dogs, she was on her phone and totally oblivious to her surroundings, one of mine gave hers a hard stare and they cleared off.

It's my next door neighbour who's my biggest issue!
I've been lucky with my walks, we've had no real problem aside from NDN! They have a massive Labradoodle and a pure Border Collie.
The collie was so cute when he was a pup, but he is not walked enough, barks constantly and is over excitable.
I thought he'd like Tamriel, as they're both young, but as soon as he saw her (he was off-lead, about half a mile from home, with owner and other dog) he ran up to her and pinned her, growling and snarling, really aggressive, not in a playing way at all!

He then did it again at roughly the same place. Neither time did NDN say sorry or correct the dog. Thankfully it hasn't upset Tam too much, she's a nervous little girl, so could have been bad for her confidence!

Another time, a few years ago, it was a friend who embarrassed me! Her dog with poor re-call was off lead at a busy park. I told her it might be best to walk him on the lead, but I was ignored. He ran right through someone's picnic and ate some of their food :O friend had the nerve to argue back when they asked her to put him on a lead! I apologised and didn't walk with her for a long time after that. Luckily she's much better now!

Friendly Labradors loose in car parks making my life hell while I try and convince three lurchers it is not worth telling the idiots they should not try to get into the car with them!

Why do some people think it is ok to have their dogs loose in car parks? There are moving cars, blind spots when reversing and other people with dogs on leads trying to come and go in peace. They are also usually very close to roads. I just don't get it.
