I sold a 6'9" heavyweight Rambo supreme varilayer turnout rug on eBay last year, so one of the larger and heavier rugs around.

We still had the original bag, so put it in that then in a heavy duty black bin liner. Went by Evri, postage was not mega expensive I but can't remember how much. Buyer very happy.

I usually put them in a couple of the stronger dustbin bags and seal well with wide parcel tape and then put address label on with sellotape and my address on the back also selloptaped on.

Exactly what I did with mine, or large strong parcel bags off Amazon. I made sure I included delivery in the purchase price and sent recorded for everything (selling all my horse stuff due to giving up) as I'm cynical - glad I did as when someone said they hadn't got anything the tracking showed it was signed for at their house

I always use Evri they are around £6 for up to 5kg which nearly all rugs are under. Take to the shop print off a label if you don't have a printer. Easy to post just use thick bin liner staple the top of the bag.

dpd/parcelforce, evri lost 3 rugs id bought from someone and just generally have an awful reputation anyway - if they lose it, the buyer can get a refund through paypal but you’d have to go through evri which is hell!
