I'm hoping someone here has done this recently or has more understanding of the customs requirements. I've been trying to figure out how to post a saddle from UK mainland to an EU country and its turning my brain inside out 🙃

Quotes look to be around £60 excluding VAT, including insurance for saddle value (£450). I'm worried about any additional customs charges for me or the reciever, or will everything be included in that postage quote? Is there any additional paperwork required?

They should expect to pay their own sales tax plus 2% duty and handling fee. As a business I am required to attach three copies of the sales invoice to the outside of the box (in plastic or a sealed envelope) so I expect you would need to do similar.

Yeah I read your thread about it and that's part of what's made me wonder if it is worth the hassle!

See I saw something about copies of the sales invoice but hadn't seen buyer pays 2% fee anywhere! Also most info online is for business sellers, I don't know how different or not it is for private sales.

I think sadly it isn't going to be worth it ☹

It all comes in one bill from the shipper usually, but there are tariffs on goods, and I'm pretty sure they apply to used goods as does full VAT.
