Well, horsey no 2 has failed the vet as well...

The main reason was cos he was slightly lame in front. Sound in the school & when trotted up, so at least I don't feel too much of a muppet for not spotting it, lame on flexion test & lungeing.

However... horse pulled a shoe off eventing on Friday & he also passed a 5 stage & had clear x rays 6 months ago, so we're giving it 2 weeks in case he tweaked himself on Fri, & then giving the flexion tests another go...

So let's have lots of get well horsey vibes & also good luck vibes cos I've got an interview tomo & another one on Mon...

TBH, maybe the 2 week delay isn't such a bad thing because I'll have had 4 interviews by then, & might feel safer getting another horse if I've got an income, & also my redundancy money will be through. Last but not least, maybe PetPlan will have had time to work through their backlog & pay my death claim. REALLY wish they'd get on with it. Cat's been dead over a month, I did the forms straight away & I end up crying on the phone every time I have to talk to them & it's NOT helping.

Good luck for the flexion tests

Good Luck with the job interviews
and good luck with pet plan - although we had a horse die with them and they never paid out

When you re-flex make sure you also lunge the horse on hard and soft.
6 months unfortunately would be plenty of time for something like navicular to develop

I hope the flexions go better next time... it's good that he passed a 5 stage just six months ago, that should give you a little bit of hope.

Bloomin vets nowadays. Its good that they pick up things but it is so upsetting when something does show up when you have set your heart on a particular horse.
I hope he comes through for you. Keep your chin up and you will fly through your interviews.
Good Luck, and hugs coming your way.

Don't lose heart. My boy had a couple of strides of lameness in a foreleg after the flexion test. We had x-rays done and found no underlying problem so I went ahead and bought him.

It is excluded from our insurance policy even after the vet spoke to the insuers and said he was fine. He's advised me to give it 12 months and then go to war with them.

Good luck.

Good luck and heaps of positive vibes oh and hugs too. Petplan are not renowned for being good on death claims I'm afraid. As much as it hurts to nag them ( been there) keep kicking their ass! I gave up in the end - but people shouldn't have too. Be strong!
