I'm in the middle of trying to sort this out so I thought I would post on here to see what you all think
My horse was vaccinated when I bought him but the booster hadn't been done in time so I started him off again. In June 2007 he should have had his annual booster but it was missed by a few days due to miscommunication between myself/yard and the vets. Fair enough, there was nothing I could do about it.
We compete on Riding Club teams so they HAVE to be correct with Jockey Club Rules so I had no choice but to start him off again. So I had this done in June (approx) and the vet put the next date for the 3rd injection in the passport for Dec 14th.
Dec 14th came and I took him to be done and when I checked the dates I realised that the vet was wrong and he'd been done 20 days too early
I know! I should have checked before getting him done but I didn't
I trusted the vet's calculations and shouldn't.
The vets have said they will do the booster when it is due sometime around nowish to mid feb FOC as it was their error (I was amazed they even admitted this and took responsibility as it was as much my fault as theirs
)
So my query is... am I going to have to start him again for the third time or is it likely that just having the third bit done in the correct time frame is going to be ok?
No-one at Riding Clubs can answer this until tomorrow so thought i'd see if anyone has had this problem before or had any idea
Thanks for reading, sorry it's longwinded!
