Scooby has a Wintec saddle with changeable gullet - he's got the white extra wide one at the moment, and we need to downsize to the red wide one because he's lost weight (hooray!). I'm looking on Ebay to see if I can find one cheap (£17 for a bent piece of metal?! Nooooo) and there are Wintec, Thorowgood, Bates and Fieldhouse ones on there.

Question: Do I have to get a Wintec one to fit my saddle, or will any brand fit? Sorry if it's a really thick question.

Speedy responses much appreciated - the sooner I can get the new gullet, the sooner I can be riding my pony again!

I'd definitely go for a wintec one. I have a thorowgood and have seen wintec gullets and IIRC they are slightly different.

You should use the same make as the saddle. Different manufacturers = a different style, so wont necesarily fit correctly and a wide in one make may also not be the same as a wide in another.
