poultice boot?

Has anyone used the green canvas poultice boot, if so are they waterproof? or has anyone tried these new latex hoof covers? are they for use in the field and do they make the foot sweaty


my lad has infected heel, thats not gunky but I want him to go out and the weather going to be crap over the next few days so need to keep it clean, dry and covered

The green poltice boots are fairly waterproof but the base is really slippy (so no good on grass) and they're not that robust - old horse destroyed her withing two days of turnout.

Hi,

From experience the boots are rubbish! My pony had an abcess and the boot lasted less than 48hrs!! the best thing i found was vetwrap then cover it in gaffer tape.

I use a Davis boot and it is brilliant.
