I have to poultice one of my minis hooves at the min but no matter what I do the poultice keeps coming off. At the minute I'm just using Animalintex with vet wrap on top, what could I put on top of this to keep it in place? I've read about people using nappies which sounds like a great idea if only her hooves weren't to tiny! I was thinking maybe a sock on top?!

Also is there a knack to putting on the vet wrap so it stays in place?!

So simple, thanks! Any tips on gauging the tightness when wrapping it? I worry about doing it too tight...

Agree try a sock! How about a sanitary towel if a mini ( a biggish one...) then vet wrap, plastic food bag and tape. Then sock!

loads of duct tape, my boy kept his on in loads of mud when I wrapped his foot up! I wouldn't worry about doing it too tight as your only wrapping around the foot but it needs to be tights to stay on!

It would be hard to wrap a hoof too tightly. When it's wrapped cover the hoof in duct tape (concentrating a bit on the toe to re-enforce it when she walks) if you go slightly higher than the hoof/ coronet band snip down with scissors a cm, preventing rubs x

haha no, if might smell a bit manky from the heat, esp if when your wet poulticing for the first few days! but do it as tight as you can get it!

with the tape I took a few strips and over lapped them in the same direction, making a square, then took another few strips and laid them over the top going the opposite way, to make it nice a strong! stuck that on his foot and folded it upwards then wrapped more tape around the top to hold it on! was a night mare to get off but meant he couldn't get it off either! haha!

Great thanks lots of tips for tomorrow! Off to the shops in the morning to peruse nappies, sanitary towels and duct tape lol!
