I feed cool stance to two horses. One a poor doing oldie. Who picked up and even muscled up! Within four weeks of feeding it.
I also feed it with other things to my EPSM horse and he actually has energy and stamina to build on now. I rate it highly I think its a fantastic feed. The old girl gobbled up up straight away but my youngster needed it put out in front of him a few times. He loves it now.
Nothing wrong with trying power stance either I just hose cool stance for my personal needs. I do highly rate it and since power stance is made of the same stuff if recommend either as appropriate.
Another that uses cool stance- gives plenty of energy / stamina for hunting, pony clubbing and low level eventing old , hard to keep TB also doing well on it. I add UMSB, linseed and minerals. I feed 6 cups copra, 2 cups UMSB , 2 cups linseed , all measured before soaking, per day to the old TB, split into two feeds. The hunters get the same, but less cool stance. By cup I mean a small plastic picnic cup, same size as a coffee cup.
I've fed coolstance/copra with good results; everything has loved it and put on condition.
Powerstance is different in that it's more of a supplement than a feed. It's extremely high in protein (27% IIRC) and you add a scoop to your feed.
I tried it to get a good, saturated fat into an ulcer horse's diet but, despite introducing it incredibly slowly, said horse came out in a protein rash. He was fine being fed coolstance.
Thanks for that, I think I will definitely try cool stance first then.
My horse is a poor dooer ( 17:3 tb type ) he looks well now but ideally could just do with that little bit more.
He is on livery so the bulk of his feed ( everyday cubes ) and ab lib quality hayledge is provided, so I currently supplement this with a scoop of baileys no 1 and balancer.
Am definitely going to try swooping the baileys for copra to see if that makes the difference.
