I have (quite by accident, I didn't even want one!!) acquired a new man.
He's fantastic, really good looking (looks like my favourite Dwarf from the Hobbit, Fili) and is willing to help me with my crippling jealousy (I was very upfront about it this time).

Anyway, he offered to come to the yard with me (no one else has ever done that!) and help me muck out! Well, he ended up going above and beyond the call of duty, as he helped me catch Ned, Viking and Toby, who'd escaped into the farmers fields. He took Ned and Viking and I took the devil Toby (purely because he's nasty and you have to be able to read horsey language very well).

He seems to really like Ned and Ned likes him too :) I have found other guys I have dated have talked the talk, but when it came to actually getting in the pen with Ned, they made every excuse under the sun, the new guy walked right up to him and gave him a lovely pat :)
All this and I've only known him a month!! I felt more nervous about introducing him to Ned, than I did my parents haha!
Sadly he's too heavy to ride Ned, at 15stone (not fat) and 6ft 2, it's just not going to happen. Still, he can ride a bike so he can still come with me on rides :D

So, well done M and thanks!!

Aw that's fantastic !!! My hubbie is very special too - he's not horsey at all, but he helps me so much, and Shy adores him. (not that Shy would ever admit it, but despite all his protests when hubs hugs him, Shy is looking at me and has a twinkle in his eye).

The real man test HAS to be the poo picking though.....

Back in the day - not only did I do this for my mare with me fingers but also used to break the lumps up checking for worms with a glass!

I could pass on the fresh grassy variety but I don't find horse poo offensive - not like dogs or cats, no matter how much you love them! In fact I quite like the smell of stabled horse and while on the subject of smells - I've always said that a piece of fresh peeled chestnut should be waived under me nose if there's no other sign of life - if I'm still here, it will bring me round.

Aww! Nice guys are awesome ^^

He's fab at poo picking :O Almost as good as me with a shovel!!

Sad, but I've just googled Fili and...he's bloomin gorgeous! You go girl!!

He even let me plait his hair like Fili haha and I'm planting the seed in his mind about growing an epic 'stach! He's already got quite impressive facial hair, but it could be even more awesome :P haha
