Pre-bagging feed

My horse is going to my instructor's for a few days and I need to pre-bag his feed, as the rest of the feed sacks need to remain at home with my other horses. Anyway, he usually has magnesium and salt in his feed. Is this able to be pre-bagged too, or is it likely to go hard or congealed weirdly?

For supplements, I make up each day's in a little plastic pot for the yard to add each day however there is some concerns around salt degrading mineral so you may want that separately.

The feeds there are two options. Either make up each day's in a plastic bag, if you do that you could add the magnesium so just the salt to add.

Option 2 is premix all the feeds on a sack, then they add the number of scoops to each bowl and the supplements

Could you bag the feeds up minus the salt and send the salt separately to be added before feeding?

unless you feed really heavily molasses covered feed I doubt the magnesium would congeal as there won't be moisture in the bag.

If in doubt add the salt, then the feed, then the other supplements last so it’s layered before closing the bag and refrain from shaking it about too much. It’ll be fine.
Yes great idea! I just thought this too after other posters saying about salt degrading other supplements.
