This may be a silly question, it feels like the answer will be quite obvious :redface3: but at any rate. I've been considering having a go at trying a friendly drag hunt a little out of my area but I don't have my own horse box. I have heard of a few commercial transporters who are willing to take on a small-ish job like this but I'm not sure what to do with my steed once I get there.
Any of the people I've heard about or in the videos I've seen everyone has their horses tied to their own horse box and that's how they can deal with going to pay caps and introductions and tacking etc.

Does anyone go to hunts without a horse box? how early would you need to get there and how do you handle pre-hunt with a horse in hand?

Take horse with tack on, unload at or nearby the meet, leave rug and head collar in lorry, arrange a time for lorry to back to fetch you, hop on horse and have cap money in your pocket to hand to the secretary.

This....hunts are very sociable and as you get to know people, you may find there are others travelling from your area and perhaps in the future you could share with them and split petrol money. Hunting is the best fun - good luck with it!

Probably not, I drive a mini so it would be a trailer, and a car that can tow. I don't really do shows and I have nice hacking nearby so I just need a very occasional ride from A to B maybe 2-3 times a year :)
