I'm with you. A friend rang me the other day to ask if I had an account as there was 2 free labs. Apparently she couldnt afford the £5 fee. My reply probably wasnt what she was wanting.

It just really winds me up, we pay our £5 ..... Only £5 but that's so we get a advantage over people who won't pay so they have to wait to get the ad details. When I wanted the details off the 1st ad I needed I didn't think twice about paying £5 and wouldn't even thought about geting somebody to get the details for me.

well i hope no one loans their horse to the ""experienced teenager"" who boomeranged back my pony complete with a check ligament, and 4 month rehab programme, whilst making off with various items of tack!!!!!!!!!! west midlands/solihull based.

If you must know, i have/had an account a FULL account. I havent re-newed it because i havent needed to. Ive just payed out some bills & dont have £5 in my account, therewise i will be in my overdraft & have to pay £25 everyweek intill i get payed end of jan! I have thanked the kind person who has helped me. And as its something i have been hunting for for quite a while, i thought id ask. What happened to good old fashioned kindness

If you use the site a few times/regularly, the £5 is worth it. But if someone just wants the details of one ad, I can see it seems a bit to lay out for a phone number! I don't blame the OP for asking. Worth a try! ;)

I don't understand in what way you want "advantage"? It's just a site trying to make profit. When I respond to an ad I don't expect to have any advantage over anyone else. Not a criticism, just confused! :)

Not got a mother called Lisa has she??????? Sounds like the brat who used to ride our pony and they stole a lot of stuff of us too!

If you pay £5 you can see all the contact details for people posting new adverts. If you don't pay, I think you have to wait a week or 10 days (and chance that somebody else has already brought!!) :)

I don't see the harm in asking, times are tough and not everyone is comfortable putting their bank details online etc etc :) xxx

Ahhhh it is ten days :) LOL I've paid for full membership and don't even know what I get for it!! I used it a lot when I was looking for tack/rugs, can be quite handy especially if you happen across a job-lot! :D

Sounds similar to the teenager in N.Wales who is after a 16hh horse for free or up to £200. Must be rideable and not ill. Apparently, it's going to live in a 5 star livery. That's really odd considering there is no livery yard in our town and 2 people I know had to put up Abandonment Notices to get her and her family off their land after non payment, not to mention calls to welfare charities due to neglect. But hey ho.

I have to agree people pay the £5 for the advance on seeing the advert, so its a bit cheeky asking other people for the contact details, unless its a one off which we all know is rare!

Also if they can't afford the £5 membership, how can they afford to buy the product in the advert?!

I wouldn't do it, as I'd feel awkward asking. But if others want to be cheeky, I don't object!

I expect everyone can afford £5 tbh, but if you can avoid paying it.... ;) Also there's the very good point that every time you use your card details online, you're taking a risk. Some wish to minimise that risk.

I honestly can't see why it should annoy anyone else.

You have to be aware that these sites are beneficial to all, and a bit like donation sites need funds to keep going, else they will disappear, perhaps the owner of pre-loved has an overdraft due to people not paying up!
You don't explain how you are going to buy the goods if you have no money, presumably you are going to explain to the vendor that they will have to dip in to their overdraft while they wait for you to get paid!

She could be responding to a free or wanted ad.
