Being..........we own 3.5 acres of land, field gets very boggy in the winter and therefore horses have to be off it really for the winter..........
i have 3 horses, a TB who is quite accident prone, so far she has cost me £500 in vet bills just this year - last year she cost me £400 in vet bills due to types of cuts/injurys mainly caused by her being out. After her recent fetlock injury i decided that a nice livery yard with excellent facilities it what i needed for her. I have had my ups and downs with her and she is very high maintenance but shes still a baby and is showing jumping potential. She is everything i want in a horse, hacks out alone, 100% in traffic, never strong or silly out in company etc and am having lots of fun with her. It is an expense to keep her - £48 per week.

Next i have a 2yr coblet, registered with chaps, she has the sweetest nature and is easy to do. She should make 15.1hh but everyone who knows her is doubtful and say she will be lucky to get to 14.2 :(
I also have an 11hh welshie sec a, good breeding, registered has revel bloodlines, who is 3, she has recently been bitted, sat on and wearing full tack. She has been lead out and is proving to be good in traffic. I wanted her for my daughter next year though..........
These ponies are currently being kept at grass somewhere else which is costing me £20 PW.

With shoes, trims, worming, hard feed for TB etc (not to mention the vet bills) its really mounting up. I have 3 part time jobs to keep them, and although i can afford them, its hard work with a none horsey OH, we constantly argue about it (money) and i feel something has to give. :(
Plus the wet field is going to be a problem, extra cost of hay for ponies in the winter plus finding them alternate grazing for the winter months..........

Do i sell the coblet - i have had a few offers from people to buy her, baring in mind she mightnt make over 15hh, AND sell the welshie?? and just keep the TB - who i get the most out of......?
OR keep coblet and TB, coblet could probably stay where she is for the winter - one extra shouldnt be a problem....but 2 extra would be. And sell the welshie??

I was thinking if i did sell £1500 for coblet and have no idea on welshie? decisions decisions........

Hmmm, that's a hard one. Maybe you should sell the cob as it sounds like you would have the most interest in her. Then you could keep the welshie for your daughter and concentrate on the TB. The welshie could be a field mate for the TB in summer when the field is dry and would cost you less in winter with regard to feed and hay when they are on livery. Hope that helps! x
