just out of interest really!

my little girl is due in 8 weeks and im still riding and working in riding school (only 2moro and next sunday left at work). im planning on keeping riding as i'l have my friends semi retired mare to ride even though i'l not have the riding school ponies so just nosy as to whether other people rode this far on and how soon to baby arriving they stopped??

I didn't ride when I was pregnant only because I didn't have a rideable horse at the time, my friend rode her old horse until the week before she had her baby and she was back on board in no time at all too.

I was 7 months pregnant and still riding to hounds, but got to uncomfy after that!!I was riding my dear old mare who i trusted 110 percent.

your making me feel bad lol, i wouldnt be riding either if it wasnt riding school ponies and the retired girly - she looks after me! i miss my own pony but he's a youngster/idiot, got new loan pony too who iv only had a walk and trot around the school on once!

My instructor told me she'd no longer teach me after 32 wks! LOL! I stopped then - this is a pic of me and H.

H's mum - your like me, you dont even look pregnant! None of the customers at yard even knew i was until couple of weeks ago when it got warmer and i took my coat off!

It's funny isn't it - not one person asked me if I was preg all the way through - I still wore the same jodhs and everything! LOL!! I'd just say go on for as long as it's comfy - I was back on after 3 wks - we're all individual!

Never been pregnant but not sure if I'd carry on riding or not.....

I think it depends on the individual horse & rider. Each is different & what suit one won't suit another.

Didn't Mary King who carry on eventing late into her pregnancy? Certainly it was noticeable. Not sure I'd have the nerve to do that!

I rode my horse until the day before I had my baby and was back on the week after. Everyone's different though - I never really looked or felt much different, the only thing I struggled with was dismounting, I had to park my 17.2 TB against a convenient bank/fence because it was too far to slide off forwards

i stopped the day i found out i was expecting, only go one once after i stopped to stop a horse happing for hubby. I had a nightmare pregnancy though, a few near misses (god knows how many emergency scans i had in the end) plus i was carrying twins!

I stopped when I found out I was pregnant, my midwife said that it was safe as long as I didn't impale myself on anything, though there were too many pheasants jumping out of hedges on the estate that I ride!!!!!!

did pop on at 34 weeks as really missing it, though couldn't walk the next day

Enjoy it while you can

I rode until I could no longer physically get off the horse, so just into the last 4 weeks - I test rode a new horse for my husband at 6 months (he was novice and not up to properly cantering it - someone had to!). The woman selling was a midwife and I swear she was going to have a heart attack when I launched her ex-chaser into canter across a field:)

i rode to about 8mths with my youngest and about the same with my second son
i could only manage walking by then though
Back in the saddle soon after...

All my preganacies were short labours...maybe the riding had something to do with it

I rode up until a couple of weeks before with my first son, only really stopped because it was Christmas and I had a houseful so would've struggled to find time anyway!

Stopped a bit sooner with No 2, I think about 6 weeks before but only because I was bigger and my bump was bouncing a little on the pommel!!

I do think it's a very individual thing though and listening to your own body is vital. If you can, you're healthy and you want to - go for it! If you don't feel it's right for you - stop!!

I rode until I was 12 weeks pregnant - OH banned me after that. Back in the saddle when Anya was 10 weeks. Would have done it earlier but the weather was appalling and I didn't think it would be worth the hassle.

I rode until 32 weeks and only stopped when no-one wanted the responsibility of either riding with me or instructing me! Unfortunately my horse isn't quiet enough to hack out, otherwise I would have continued with hacking instead of schooling and jumping

very topical! I'm going through this now, 6 1/2 months pregnant but starting to get stitch when i trot so have resolved myself to fact that i am going to have to stop

Really hard decision but must listen to body! Hard when you are so used to being fit and well, plus my energy levels have gone!!

LiznDibs you must be due in july too are you? im the 15th - hopefully she arrives earlier like my first though. im not getting a stitch when trotting yet so maybe il manage a bit longer, you should just only ride in walk instead of stopping all together!
