Hello

At what point do you expect to feel the puppies move. According to our dates Bunny is about 8 and a half weeks pregnant and she is huge but we can't feel any movement.

Any advice gratefully received. I am off to drive to Heathrow now for a conference - so I wont be back on line till this evening but will come back then.

Thanks in anticipation.

So there is still a chance that this could be a phantom pregnancy. I do feel the odd little movement but it could easily be her digestive system.

She has massive boobs and her stomach is huge. She is also tired all the time (I know how she feels.) It's the not knowing that is driving me mad. If it is a phantom pregnancy we could end up panicking if she goes into labour and their are no puppies.

It sounds a bit extreme for a phantom, and I have never known one having a phantom go into full labour. Some digging up yes but not contractions. Sometimes it isn't so easy to see , feel the pups towards the end of the pregnancy as they start moving into the birth canal. If she gets to 9 weeks and nothing has happened it might be worth getting the vet to check her, maiden bitches are not often late. Another thought, and don't want to panic you, I know you caught her tied with your dog, but there is no chance she could have been mated again at a later date is there?

Yes I could feel Lily's pups well before 8 weeks. They were very wriggly and you could feel each individual puppy. When she was lying down on her side you could even see them jumping around - that was weird lol!

I'd be 100% sure she's pregnant, I think I've not written that very well, Mia was pregnant (until yesterday) but we couldn't feel them because she tenses up with excitement, they need to relax before you can feel any movement. Sorry for the confusion!
