Prelim 1

Kerilli has just convinced my OH to do his first dressage next weekend - unaff, a walk and trot test and Prelim 1. Walk and trot is on it's way but can anyone tell me what's in Prelim 1 - just an overview - is there any canter?

All the Prelims have canter, although Prelim 1 is the most straightforward (or should be)

hange rein in trot
canter 20m circle
canter around the arena
1/2 10m trot cicle on to cl to halt
also free walk is k-b then b-h instead of long diagonal

Brilliant - thanks for that - he's not done any work on canter yet (very hollow) so should be fun! Well for me watching anyway!

She's convinced me to go to - doing walk & trot only though as canter not great, tell OH I know exactly how he feels - I want you all to disappear & go grap a coffee or something when it's my turn!!!!

- glad you're coming too - don't worry, Ian may well trot the canter bits just in case the accelerator gets stuck! The whole idea of 2 tests is so he's got time to wear her out. H is coming along for a ride so if it all ends in disaster with Deeds he can ride Huge HC in the Prelim test!

Gotta get lorry battery charged and see if we can borrow and arena this weekend somewhere - he's only been out once and ended up in casualty with a query broken pelvis and internal injuries

He's also convinced he'll be a "all the gear and no idea" in a dressage saddle etc doing a W+T and Prelim!

Oh and he's nervous already!

You're more than welcome to bring over to mine if you want. Nothing fancy but it will be an outing for him. I'm around all weekend, not going anywhere.

I'm convinced I'll be a "all the gear and no idea" too, in fact when the day comes I'll brick it so much and won't be able to go!!!!!!!
