Morning!

Taking the B monster to a unaff dressage comp on Sunday and one of the tests I'm doing is Prelim 13. I've never done it before and entered before reading it.

Is it me, or is it rather more tricky than the other Prelims??? Seems it is to me, but I am hoping for a start I can remember it as it's so long!

Any tips for riding it, or should I just stop being so silly !!!

Please may I jump in and ask the same question about prelim 18?

Ugh. Prelim 13 is a wierd test. Don't think it flows very well at all, but not necesarily difficult. Just make sure you prepare well for the transitions and the give and retake

Prelim 18 is lovely

I read it in bed last night for the first time, and thought WTF???

It doesn't flow at all, very stop / start, and all the canter trans are on a circle. the other test I'm doing is P7 which also has the canter trans on a circle but a different 1/2 - so i'm going to be vvv confused.

I rode Prelim 13 for the Riding Club area dressage and it was not as bad as I thought it would be having read it. Just you have to prepaire early. If you are acurate you caqn get a really good mark!

good luck

The only real tricky place is the trot-walk-trot transition on the centre line before the judge - make sure you are really straight (no wobbles) and you won't have any problems!

Prelim 18 is a lovely test and would definately recommend for 1st tests!

Thanks. I'm just in the drawing it on a piece of paper stage at the mo. Will be keeping friends and colleagues entertained in the next few days as I lay it out on the coffee lounge floor at work and start practicing!!!!! Then get my boy to practice with me as soon as I'm confident with the routine!!!!

I'm scared but also very very excited at the prospect of getting out to our first show.

I cant remember it? What sort of things has it got in it. Anything with a downward trans canter to trot across diagonal after x are my pet hates! Urgh my pony just flings round the corners sitting into trot isnt her speciality. Is this the test where you have to trot and canter before X every time? Where are you doing it? (sorry twenty questions!!)

Hi - doing it @ Felbridge this sunday. It has very early on in the test, a second trot down centre line and then down to walk for 3-5 strides then trot again, all before X. so not on a diaganol.... My mare isn't hte straightest and quite likely to go from walk to canter!!!

Charlie and I prefer prelim 13, as it comes quite quickly and keeps his mind occupied and doesnt really give him chance to become to hollow. The judge will be looking for accurate test. The best advice is to relax and enjoy and remeber that you are supposed to be having fun. Also as you come down the centre line SMILE at the judge

Ill be there too!

I'll be on a nutty dark bay TB mare who's probably mis behaving!! may have red ribbon in tail too as she's so marish with people coming close. Lorry is dark blue Iveco (v old) no living! good Luck! wouldn't be brave enough to do a Novice just yet !

Ill look out for you! Good Luck anyway! Novices are touch and go with us. This one has medium trot and canter and we're not really at that level yet but hey you gotta try it sometime!
