Preloved - Anyone have a paid account?

Why can't you just pay the paltry sum of £5 to be a member like the rest of us?

You want to use the site so support it! This kind of thread really irritates me!

Hi,
Have had a look for you - there is no contact number on the reply, just the chance to e-mail a reply to her. Hope that helps ?!?!?

because some of us dont have 5 quid here and 5 quid there, and "oh, i like this site too, lets donate there too" some of us just dont have it to throw around.

Thanks everyone.

Bikerchick, not that it's anyones business but mine, but I did have a paid account. I don't have it now because I quite literally don't have two pennies to rub together.

I recently lost my job so had to move back in with my parents to avoid paying rent, my boyfriend is paying for my horse. Yes, to most people it's a "paltry £5" but not when you don't have pence.

Dont have one, but if you look at the second ad she says she has an older one on. If you look that up you should be able to contact her. She says

If you cannot reply to this message because it is new, i do have another advert up, stable job wanted, which is old that you can reply too. Thanks

Must have missed that..

Thanks

Both ads are the same person.

FWIW I'd be very happy to help a fellow forum member by passing along a phone number if they'd fallen on hard times. I'd like to think that someone would help me if I was a bit stuck in someway and it was no effort or cost to some kind soul

Whatever your situation is the site exists because people pay to support it. If the majority stop paying then the site won't survive so none of us have it as a resource, how does that help anyone?

I'm all for helping people who need it but killing the site isn't going to help anyone.

Sorry if you feel I've been unfair but it really isn't a ridiculous amount of money for such a useful facility.

I've paid a fiver for the last few years and rarely (if ever) used it so would be happy to let a friendly forum member benefit if she was down on her luck.

But we're all different!

Oh come one, the OP is not refusing to pay a fiver and then wanting to view for sale ads.

She is completely broke and needs a sharer to help to keep her horse, a bit different.

If she was asking for a lot more than a phone number I'm sure people would help her. She is trying to find a sensible solution in a difficult situation. I doubt if it will make the difference between preloved staying in business or not.

I do agree thats its annoying when people are looking to buy horses, if they cant afford the fiver then they certainly cant afford to keep a horse.

I hardly think the site is going to go down. I have nothing against giving the odd person contact details for ads.

One of my friends moved into a new home and her partner lost his job so i gave her my password to contact people for second hand items. I'd rather that fiver go towards a fridge to keep her well fed for nourishing her baby in turn. Just the same way as i would drop a copy of the local paper round for a friend if they needed a quick browse through the adverts.

I don't have a problem with the OP - She is obviously looking for a solution to her difficult financial times. Much rather her do this than another horse having to be sold on ending up god knows where because of the state our country is in.

I just have an issue with the incorrect use of the word contribution.

For what it's worth I don't have a problem with the OP either, but it's not exactly unusual to see posts like this one and if everyone does it then it will affect the site.

It's less than 10p a week?! But obviously I'm mean and insensitive because I don't know the OP from Adam so had no idea of her circumstances from her post. I feel exactly the same way about the posts wanting free copies of dressage tests. I'm afraid I personally wouldn't dream of putting a post like this on here because to me it's not acceptable.

I'll give up now since obviously nobody sees my point at all ;)

I do see your point. If it were someone wanting to view a bunch of ads just because they couldn't be arsed to pay then i'd have the pitchfork straight out as that annoys me too.

Just from clicking the ads she wants to contact though (The ads are people looking for part loan) and reading her post, It's easy to see she isn't taking the piss, just desperate to find a solution to a crappy situation.

Oh dear someone needs to get off their high horse. The fiver the op isnt in a position to contribute isnt going to make preloved go bust. You dont sound to me like youve ever been short of a fiver, so maybe its you thats finding it difficult to see our point of view.

Lol, aren't all horse people broke? I think you need to read a little more carefully since I clearly stated that I have no issue with the OP, I simply believe that 10pence a week isn't unreasonable.

I don't have a high horse - he's only 15hands having shrunk through the dreaded barefoot ordeal. :) :) :)
