I posted about getting a Premier Equine fleece rug a little while ago, some of you posted back to say they are great so I ordered a lovely black one. It came about a week ago AND IT DOESN'T FIT!

I tried it on GG today and no way will it fit round his neck, it doesn't have any adjustment on the front and it's too short on the back. I ordered a 6'3" he has 6'3" rugs at the moment. I don't think a 6'6" would fit either it may be longer in the back but not round the neck. I haven't had any problems with rug fit before, he is a cob, but not a wide tank of a cob, I have Weatherbeeta, Masta, Mark Todd, GFS and even Tesco rugs and all fit perfectly!

I am so annoyed though as it's actually a very good quality rug and looks really smart. Someone at the yard may buy it off me, she has a skinny TB type will see later when she brings him in.

I will put this in stable yard too as there was mention of these rugs on both forums. Just cheesed off really you don't need to respond!!

Someone has said maybe I got a 'duff' one, size wise, oh well lady at my yard may have it, she saw it this morning and thought it was great, which it is!! and it may fit her horse ....Booo hooo!

I bought 2 PE lightweight T/O rugs last year. Neither fit my WB or IDxTB around the neck. Luckily they have 2 buckles on the front as i have to leave the top one un-done otherwise they wouldnt be able to graze wearing them.
But i kind of accepted it as they where so cheap in the sale, they keep there back dry & it doesnt seem to be causing a problem only doing up one fixing but it is a little annoying.

How long ago did you get it? Looking at the posts on her it seems that they may have recently changed the design? Can you adjust the fit on the chest?

This is interesting, i got a PE fleece @ Olympia '06' and it fitted my welsh D a treat,i had a look at them this year as she ripped the other on a door and they just arn't made the same, def not as generous around the chest area which is the problem for most cobs.I agree that they've changed the design.

We had a rug from Premier Equine a few years ago which leaked like a sieve the very first time it rained. Their customer service was abysmal, would never deal with them again.

I had the same problem. All my horses are 6ft even though they are all different shapes (TB, QH & Arab) and I got the narrow chested arab a 6ft PE fleece and it doesn't touch her. Too tight over chest/neck and tight over her hindquarters. Was really disappointed too as heard good things about them
