Does anyone have and use these pads?

I'm looking at getting a jump pad and a dressage pad for a sensitive horse that needs the fluffy lining, but I haven't tried these before or seen this brand in person. Do they sit well under the saddle and stay put? How do they wear over time, and how easy are they to clean? They seem very reasonably priced compared to similar pads.

I have one. I use it daily for my mare, it stays put and sits well under her saddle (which was fitted with it). I've never washed it, but I have to brush the sweat out of it regularly. She's only had it for about 3 months so I can't comment on how hard wearing they are over time. Ideally I'd like a few so I can swap them about more and wash it properly sometimes...

I have one of their GP saddlecloths, my saddlefitter says it's to straight along the spine for my horse large high withers and a dipped back to use.

The wool is thick and feels soft - haven't used much due to above issues but seemed to wash well.

I’ve got a couple of the numnahs which are fab. Wash and wear well. Don’t move.
However I also got a shaped jump one like that and it pulls down on his withers. I think it’s too straight cut instead of shaped.

I bought a jump one a while ago and thought it was quite scratchy / wiry compared to my lovely mattes one so sent it back. I could of course have bought a duff one but I didnt like the quality in general

Even my le mieux one was nicer

I bought the GP numnah and it’s quite found it to be quite bulky. It made my saddle feel perched on one horse and the other one the saddle really slid back. I’ve not used it since.

That’s funny because my Le Meiux hasn’t washed well at all and is lumpy but my PE is still as new even though I wash it weekly. It’s quite an old model though and is much softer material than a newer one I have.

I don't really use the lemieux one that much to be fair, it's just a sub for when the mattes one is in the wash. I haven't washed the le mieux one that much.

I believe that PE used to be lambskin and now they are lambs wool so maybe your older one the lambskin one?

I'll just say that as a fitter I think the Mattes justifies the extra price, PE are definitely rough, LeMieux too soft in the actual sheepskin (ie not resilient, less shock absorption) and I do hear of binding rubs, sheepskin coming out, having to use conditioner (don't, just use a good leather wash like Mattes Melp), all sorts of issues with all the brands other than Mattes. And yes, for any of these the saddle must be fitted to accommodate it, if the saddle sits well without one you will need it adjusting. If it's just a little low in front you might get away with it but still best to have the "new" fit checked.

Thanks for the input, guys, I ordered a couple pads last Friday and they arrived here (Texas) yesterday! Really pleased with the shipping time, and the pads seem pretty nice for what I paid. I do also have a Mattes half pad coming for the horse that needs a correction pad, but I think these Premier pads will suit my needs on the sensitive-skinned horse. Thanks again for your help.
