PE are now selling small pony rugs!

Firstly is it wrong that I am unfeasibly excited?

Secondly they are around the same price as the Rhino rug I had my eye on but I do like the neck cover better, how do they come up size wise and are they as good quality as the Horseware rugs?

The big horse ones are big. My mare has a 5ft6 and it is longer than her 5ft9 amigo turnout (I had it underneath in case I had to return it). Haven't used it yet but first impressions very nice rug.

They are lovely rugs.I only have a couple but Im pleased enough with them, I will certainly have more.

As to the size, after I ordered mine, I read customer comments on their FB page (this is going to be really unhelpful as I can't remember which way round this went) that people were tending to order the next size up (or the next size down, whichever they were advising :o), and I had ordered the usual size for my gelding.

Now, the body is fine on him, so Im happy with the size I got in that respect. BUT, the integrated neck is nowhere near long enough and is miles down his neck, nowhere in the region of his ears at all, so I was thinking going a size up might have been better for that.
(nb, hes got a good length of rein but not immense).

Length wise they come up to size. They are generous in depth and come around under the belly slightly, which I like. They more are generous around the chest, which is a must for me, than my Amigos. The quality is excellent. I have a 400g heavey weight stable, a 70g turnout / stable and a fly rug. With the exception of the fly rug they have removable necks.

If you have a chunky horse/pony, they are a good fit generally - if a really big chunker then go for the ones with shoulder darts in.
You 'may' need to go up a size for the neck hood tho (not always but if bordering, then go bigger if a chunky neddie is going to be wearing it)

I'm enthused by the new purple ones...... fingers keeping away from ordering at present tho.....:redface3:

I ordered the normal size for my horse. He's fairly big chest wise but its fine. Fab quality. Really nice rugs, the new ones are lovely colours also (which is very important!)

Size wise I find them big - I go down a size. I love the quality; they're the only rugs I use. My friend has a rug wash and repair business so obviously knows every brand there is and she also only buys PE for her horse.

The neck covers are great, the only ones I have found that don't rub the mane out. I've just ordered a trio for one of mine, have gone up a size as he is still growing and has lots of filling out to do so I hope it's not going to swamp him!
