Anyone any experience of this rug? Whats the sizing like?

Thank you!

LOVE IT! Woody has it- its as tough as nails, completly waterproof, very warm and cosy. Fits well and doesnt rub anywhere- neck cover does not rub mane which is a godsend. Like the way its cut and fitted- v. comfty. Sizing seems to be just right for him. Best rug Ive ever bought- other brands have been doubly sh*t in comparision.

However, a few people seem quite ambivalent about those rugs, however i am more than happy with it. Think it is so much better than the rambo duo.

Sizing is spot on. My boy is a 6'2", so bought a 6' & his bum pokes out the back.

It is for sale now as am changing to bucas instead. Most isn't used.

I only used one neck cover & one liner.
I figured you either needed a neck cover & liner or didn't.

The other brands that best fit him is Weatherbeeta ( too tight on the chest /shoulder/wither but ok everywhere else ) and Mark Todd ( fits ok , but dosnt seem as snug as the premier equine ) Jumpers horseline does not fit him well at all- too tight everywhere.

I think the sizing is generous - I have ti for my Quarter Horse x TB who is fairly ample for his height and it's on the large side for him. Think I bought the 6ft and he's normally a 6ft to 6ft 3 (in those rugs that fit up small - Amigos etc). It's also very deep and the surcingles are fairly long.

I like the rug very much but Rocco did manage to trash it within 2 weeks of having it on. Whether that was all the rugs fault is debatable. He got it over his head twice, snapped one of the surcingles off, ripped on of the liners near the tail (put his foot through it when it was over his head) and managed to get one of his front legs through the neck hole of the liner but not the outer rug and ripped one of the chest fastenings off. I intend this year to cobble it back together and get some leg straps fitted instead of a fillet strap. Main because I can't afford to replace it!

I paid £125 for mine when it was on offer - I would have been pretty cheesed off if he'd trashed it at the price it is now. Can't remember how much the Rambo one is but for that price I'd probably choose that one as I like the fit of Horseware rugs.

Hope that helps - my chap is somewhat exuberant in the field so it probably isn't all the fault of the rug!

Ah ok, is he a big boy through his shoulders? Madam is drowned in weatherbeeta type rugs, she is a similar shape to goddy, so Rambo's etc fit her best...

Mine has a whopping set of shoulders and tends to fit Horsewares best. Couldn't afford a Horseware rug last winter so went for the Premier Equine. It fits nicely - as I say generous if anything. I just hope with some customisation it will stay on him!

Yes he is large through his shoulders/neck/ chest- reading Tinkle's post I can see the P.E perhaps being big for a lighter framed horse, it is very generous/deep

I agree. My mare wore it a couple of times this year and was a bit drowned in it. She's a lighter TB type - 5ft9-6ft3 in different rugs though so a similar size just a different shape (she's got quite dainty shoulders).

I have this rug for both of mine but only used the outer so far last year. My anglo is normally in a size 6'3" but the PE in that size is a little big for him in hindsight I should have got him a 6'0". It is very deep so you have to really tuck it in with the surcingles etc. He is very fine TB like in body with high withers and the rugs that tend to fit him best are horseware and weatherbeetas. He also fits fals and mark todd but mastas are too boxy for him.

I like Weatherbeeta and my girl takes 6'3" in those and also in Masta. Last year I bought her a 6'3" PE rug and it is absolutely mahoosive on her!

She is a Welsh cob and has quite big shoulders and chest, but if I ever buy another one, I'll definitely go down to 6'.

The WB Tristar is fab

I've had 2 PE rugs, one is a fab waterproof show rug combo which has been excellent however the other was a fleece which was so damn short, my horses looked like they were wearing a mini skirt! So I wasnt overly impressed!
