Girls at the livery yard swear they've followed the dosage correctly for my mare. Loading dose daily for 10 days followed by 1 scoop a day.
The tub has lasted less than 3 weeks so I'm a bit
shocked.gif

I did some research before I switched and it looked a lot cheaper than Cortaflex HA etc. and that was one of the reasons for switching. All the info says it's an average 4 months supply so something's not right. Is it because it's the first tub and the loading dose using it all up so quickly?
 
Well, if you know the size of the scoop in grams, you can work out how long it OUGHT to last. Loading doses tend to be very high, and you will get through a tub quicker than if you are on the maintenance dose.

My mare is on Flexadin and we got through the first tub really quickly because she was on 30g / day loading does for ten days, IIRC. Now she is on the maintenance dose of 10g/day the tub is lasting a lot longer.
 
Well I use a generous scoop a day, and bought my last tub on 18th Sep. I will need another before Xmas, but yours should certainly have lasted longer, even allowing for the loading dose..
 
Just had a look at the tub and did some maths.
The loading dose over 10 days adds up to 1/2 the tub (500g) and I know they carried on feeding it at that dose for an extra 3 days so that would be another 150g. So looks like it is the loading dose that's used most of it up.

The 4 months obviously comes from the minimum daily quantity, mines on the max so if the maths are right should get 2 months out of the next tub
